Air Compressor Running Cost Calculator: What Does It Cost to Run?
A compressor's price tag is only half the story: the motor pulls real power every time it pumps up. Enter your motor size, how long you use it, and your electricity rate, and we'll estimate what it costs to run per hour, week, and year. The biggest driver of cost is duty cycle, the share of time the motor is actually pumping, not just switched on.
Your compressor and usage
Rated horsepower describes the motor's output, so a 2 HP motor draws more than 2 HP worth of power from the wall. We convert HP to input kilowatts using the efficiency you set, then bill only the time the motor is actually pumping. If you enter kW directly, we treat it as the real power drawn and ignore efficiency.
